Due to the developing and continuing Covid-19 outbreak the Isle of Wight Walking Festival is being postponed. The event is aiming to come back as an Autumnal Walking Festival sometime in October, dates and walks to be confirmed at a later date should it be safe to do so. Please check the website for updates.
One of the most popular events of its kind in Europe, the festival draws on 60 miles of dramatic Heritage Coastline and more than 500 miles of well-maintained and signposted footpaths. Trails include the 19-mile Yar River Trail, following the Island’s longest river, which is home to species such as water voles and kingfishers. The Isle of Wight Ramblers will be leading four circular walks as part of the festival, which enable keen walkers to complete the River Trail. Additionally, two new trails have been created linking Shanklin and Ventnor with the Yar River Trail, which will be premiered during the festival.
