This cliff-top fort is brought to life with new exhibitions and displays detailing its use from Victorian times through both world wars. The attractions include two original guns situated in the parade ground and a tunnel leading to a searchlight emplacement with dramatic views over the Needles. Kids’ trail sheets, discovery packs and dressing-up clothes add to the excitement and the quirky 1940s-style tea-room has cliff-top views. Until 1 Nov, daily, 10.30am-5pm (last admission 4.30pm); 27 Jun, 6.30am for a Round the Island Yacht Race Breakfast. Tearoom: until 1 Nov, daily, 10.30am-4.30pm; 7 Nov-13 Dec, Sat & Sun, 11am-3pm.
